The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has served an initial enforcement order under section 72(2) of the Enterprise Act 2002 on CHC Group LLC, EEA Helicopter Operations B.V., CHC Scotia Limited, Babcock Mission Critical Services Offshore Limited, Babcock Offshore Services Australasia Pty Ltd, and Babcock Denmark A/S in relation to the acquisition by CHC Group LLC of Babcock Mission Critical Services Offshore Limited, Babcock Offshore Services Australasia Pty Ltd, and Babcock Denmark A/S.

The CMA has yet to set their “Deadline for phase 1 decision”. This date is the current statutory deadline by when the decision will be announced. If any change occurs, the information is refreshed as soon as practicable. However, the CMA cannot guarantee that the decision will be announced on or before this current deadline, as the deadline of a given case may change during the merger assessment process due to different reasons.
Accordingly, they have also not yet set the “Launch of Merger Enquiry” date. The CMA has decided to investigate this transaction and has made an initial enforcement order. The CMA will provide an update when they formally commence the phase 1 investigation.
