Applied Video Imaging, a provider of rugged video products for airborne, ground, and marine surveillance missions, will be exhibiting at HAI HEL-EXPO 2022 in Dallas, Texas.

Based on nearly a decade of experience in designing and building airborne mission displays, AVI is introducing a new generation of rugged displays that will be suitable for airborne, ground and marine applications, including helicopters and open cockpit boats and vehicles. The new displays will feature hardened cover glass with touch screen and NVGS options, direct sunlight readable, Projective Capacitive (PCAP) controls, 3G-SDI input and output, up to 16 selectable video layouts for the four 3-G SDI inputs, fully IP68 rated and many other outstanding features.

AVI’s new range of displays use a modular approach to provide higher reliability, lower life-cycle costs, and greater installation flexibility. Each display consists of three modules – the LCD Module, the Display Electronic Unit (DEU), and the User Interface Module (UIM).

The displays are available in 23.8”, 21.5”, 17.3”, 15.6”, 12.1”, 10.1”, and 7” (7” display has integrated LCD, DEU and UIM). Since the last HAI show in 2020, AVI has also introduced IP68 versions of our DVI/HDMI to 3-G SDI Scaling Video Converter and 3-G SDI to DVI/HDMI Scaling Video Converter with MIL-STD 38999 circular connectors.

AVI will also display our rugged 16×16 and 8×8 video switches. The small, lightweight, rugged switches allow SDI video inputs to be dynamically routed to any or all of the switch outputs. The switches provide convenient and flexible methods for both control and configuration of the unit, including Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 interface. Configuration and control of the switch is easily accessed by the user via Ethernet from any PC or Laptop connected to the same network as the switch. Control can be easily embedded in the customer’s mission systems with a graphic user interface for seamless integration.

For more than 70 years, HAI has provided support, services and set the industry safety guidelines for the international helicopter community. HAI HELI-EXPO 2022 will feature over 600 exhibitors with a show floor space of nearly one million square feet within the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas (AVI Booth #7934)
