The Baltimore Police Department will upgrade its existing EC120 fleet to the H125 platform following a cooperative purchase agreement signed with the City of Baltimore to buy three new Airbus H125 helicopters late last year. Purchased through Davenport Aviation’s GSA contract, these helicopters will be of service to the city and department to enhance their public safety efforts.

“We’re incredibly proud to partner with GSA and Airbus Helicopters, Inc. to equip the Baltimore Police Department with these state-of-the-art aircraft, and this order marks the 35th helicopter procured through Davenport’s GSA contract,” said Kevin Warfield, Davenport Aviation’s State and Local Program Manager. “We are confident the H125 is the best platform to support law enforcement’s mission in providing for public safety, now and into the future.”

The H125 is a cost effective, multi-mission helicopter that boasts high performance, enhanced maneuverability, and reduced pilot workload. Standard features include dual hydraulics, dual channel engine FADEC, a crash resistant fuel system, and advanced glass-panel cockpit displays. The Baltimore Police Department’s fleet will be configured with the latest search, communications, and surveillance equipment to support its various airborne law enforcement public safety missions.

Davenport Aviation is an SBA-certified woman-owned small business and HUBZone contractor specializing in the supply of aerospace equipment to federal, state and local government agencies.

Deliveries of Baltimore Police Department’s new fleet are anticipated to begin in November 2022 from the Airbus Helicopters, Inc. production facility in Columbus, Mississippi. The H125 helicopter is the leading airborne law enforcement helicopter for many state and local agencies, accounting for nearly half of all helicopters delivered for that mission in North America over the last decade.
