Rotortec signed a contract for the purchase of two H125 to be used in aerial work, passenger transport and a wide range of missions at sea level and high altitude in the Chilean mountain range

“Rotortec has faced new challenges in recent years in line with the significant growth of aerial work flights. Due to this, we decided to reinforce our H125 fleet, mainly due to its exceptional performance and characteristics at high altitude, mountain work and cargo flights”, said Francisco Fluxá, manager of Rotortec.

“Its new added power solidifies the H125’s leadership in the single-engine segment by improving on its current performance. This extra margin makes the H125 the most suitable helicopter for a wide range of challenging missions for Rotortec and the operators in the region, ensuring greater versatility and safety”, said Jérôme Ronssin, general manager of Airbus in Chile.

Rotortec has more than 15 years of experience in Chile with three bases: Santiago, Pucón and Parque Pumalín, through which the company has already tested the H125 and its multi-role capacity. The two new Rotortec H125s will benefit from the increased power.

The H125 has superior performance compared to all single-engine helicopters, due to its performance, versatility and low maintenance, along with its excellent results in very hot or high-altitude environments. The H125 belongs to the successful Ecureuil family of helicopters, of which more than 6,700 helicopters have been delivered to 120 countries and have accumulated more than 35 million flight hours.

With a presence of more than 20 years in the country, 60 percent market share of the commercial aircraft fleet currently in service, 12 military aircraft in service and a fleet of more than 125 helicopters in service, Airbus is the market leader aerospace in Chile. In 2018, Airbus inaugurated its new facilities in the country, replacing the building it had occupied for more than two decades and reaffirming the company’s confidence in Chile and in the potential growth of the local aeronautical market.
