Babcock Australasia is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Newington as Director, Aviation and Critical Services with effect from 1 August 2022. 

Peter has a strong track record as a leader in the aviation and critical services sector, currently serving as General Manager – Strategic Projects at CareFlight where he is responsible for the delivery of patient transfer services, aerial firefighting, international jet patient retrieval and rapid response specialist clinical helicopters.  Prior to joining CareFlight, Mr Newington was the Chief Executive Officer with Hevilift in Papua New Guinea.

Babcock is Australia’s largest provider of rotary wing emergency services and proudly provides emergency medical service, law enforcement and search and rescue aviation capability for customers including the Australian Border Force, the State Rescue Helicopter Service in South Australia, Queensland Health and Ambulance Victoria. In addition, Babcock provides asset management support to commercial and government clients including Qantas, Air New Zealand and South Australia’s Metropolitan Fire Service.
