The Polish Police have this week announced that they are negotiating with Bell for an additional four 407GXIs. These will add to their fleet which includes six other Bell helicopters – three 407GXIs, two 206s and a 412HP.  Additional helicopters include three Sikorsky S70i, three PZL W3 Sokol and two Mil Mi-8s

From information published by the Polish Police, the four 407s – together with role equipment and a spares package – will cost up to 132.6 million złoty (US $28.1 million at today’s exchange rate) excluding VAT.  Role equipment of the current 407 fleet includes the Trakka Systems Total Solution Package (TrakkaCam TC-300, TrakkaBeam A800 and TrakkaMaps TM-100)

The planned purchase is linked to geopolitical changes in the region. The Police aviation unit have been given additional new tasks, including patrols along the borders with both Ukraine and Belarus.
