The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC) recently announced its exciting October schedule and a special treat for the upcoming holidays.

Starting the month on Friday, October 14, from 7 until 8 p.m. is author Jennifer L. Green discussing her book, Dark History of Penn’s Woods, which promises to inform and thrill listeners. Preregistration is required by Tuesday, October 12. Register today via the website at https://americanhelicopter.museum/events/dark-history-of-penns-woods/.

On Saturday, October 22, from 1 until 5 p.m. is an amazing drone workshop for kids ages 8 through 14 led by AHMEC’s Education Programs Manager, Paul Taylor. This four-hour workshop teaches the science of drone flight and various parts of drones. Participants even get to fly a drone on several missions! Space is limited, so see the website at https://americanhelicopter.museum/events/drone-workshop/.

Spooky fun possesses AHMEC on Saturday, October 29, from 6 until 8 p.m. for the annual Haunted Helicopters event. Activities, costumes, decorations, and, of course, trick-or-treat make the evening extra special and delightful for folks of all ages. Visit the website at https://americanhelicopter.museum/events/haunted-helicopters/ for prices and more information.

Additionally, the “Star Trek Screen-Used Props and Costumes” exhibit that opened in early September continues through Sunday, November 27, including three remaining lectures of the accompanying speakers’ series. This unique collection of screen-used and production-made artifacts spans decades and encompasses costumes, weapons, communicators, even pieces of the starship Enterprise! A delight for hard-core Trekkies and casual fans alike, this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit is a chance to peer behind the curtain and see some of the most iconic props from the Star Trek universe. Finally, beginning this month AHMEC is once again participating in the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive with a goal of 120 gifts by December 15. Discounts on admission, as well as museum gift shop toy purchases are available to help this worthwhile cause.

There is much to see and do at AHMEC in October! Call 610-436-9600 or see the website at https://americanhelicopter.museum/ for more information.
