An NYPD detective recently fell from a Bell 429 helicopter after grabbing a rapelling rope that was not correctly secured.  The incident happened on a training exercise at the NYPD Academy in Queens on the afternoon of 1st December.  The detective Thursday afternoon, and “snapped his leg in half,” police said.
