Indonesian Navy holds Bell 505 handover ceremony

505 training helicopter developed by Bell Textron Canada was handed over by the Director of PT. Athamora Teknik Makmur Deritary by signing the minutes of the handover to the Head of the Indonesian Navy Procurement Service (Kadisadal) Rear Admiral TNI Maman Rohman. From Kadisadal it was handed over to the Logistics Assistant (Aslog) Kasal Rear Admiral TNI Puguh Santoso, and then handed over to the Puspenerbal Commander Rear Admiral TNI Edwin.

The Bell 505 training helicopter is a helicopter developed by Bell Textron Canada, which is the latest generation of Bell Textron which is fuel efficient and equipped with a series of sophisticated avionics so that it is suitable for use in order to support the Improvement of Pilot Qualifications for Indonesian Navy Pilots and Student Pilots.

The event continued with the Helicopter Ordination, namely Helicopter I was ordained by Kasal, beginning with the handing over of the pitcher from the Gatot Kaca dancer, followed by watering the helicopter using a jug, after watering, it was continued by breaking the jug and sprinkling flower water using a dipper, then opening the squadron coat of arms and punching. While Heli II was ordained by Danpuspenerbal with the same procession.

Kasal in his remarks said that aircraft as an integral component of the Integrated Fleet Weapons System (SSAT) have a very vital role and function, both as eyes and ears and an extension of the warship fleet.

Kasal continued, “This Bell-505 training helicopter is procured by the Indonesian Navy in 2021, which will then join the Air Squadron 200 Air Wing 2 Puspenerbal and is projected to become a Single Engine Training Helicopter for Indonesian Navy pilots,” said Admiral Yudo.
