The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) is delighted to announce the appointment of five new members to the charity’s Board of Trustees.

TAAS plays a critical role in saving lives and relies on the hard work and goodwill of many people, including numerous dedicated volunteers, as it receives no government funding. The new Trustees will join other Board non-executive directors and contribute to this important front-line work.

With specialist expertise in marketing and communications, Sarah Baumann joins the Board following key roles within the UK’s major advertising agencies. Until recently, Sarah was the Managing Director of VaynerMedia. Sarah has expertise in all areas of marketing and advertising, most recently in the digital and online realm.

Tim Boxell joins the Board and is a qualified lawyer. Until recently, Tim was a Partner in the Corporate/M&A teams with Slaughter and May, London. Tim has advised a range of clients from significant FTSE 100 and overseas listed companies to specialist private equity and other entities. Tim’s practice crossed over into specialist areas such as commercial contracts, employment, property, and financial regulation.

Another addition to the board is Tina Wilson. Tina is the Chief Safeguarding Officer at The Scout Association. Prior to this, she was the Head of Safeguarding at Suffolk County Council. Tina is a member of the senior leadership team at The Scout Association, responsible for leading and delivery of health & safety and safeguarding of 160,000 staff and volunteers.

Andrew Hoyle also joins the Board. Andrew is an Assistant Director at the General Medical Council. He is registered as a doctor with a licence to practise and he is also a practising barrister. Andrew’s expertise is in medical law, where he has wide experience advising senior members of government and public sector organisations and was previously Head of Medico-legal Services for part of the UK government.

The charity has also recruited Helen Keppel-Compton to Chair its Trading Company. Helen’s recent career has been with Waitrose as Director of Online Capability. In addition to 34 years of experience in eCommerce, retail and transformation, Helen is a member of the Oversight Board for the Government of Jersey. As Chair of the Trading Company, Helen will attend Charity Board meetings.

The new Trustees bring a wealth of experience and complement Deborah Atkins, Faisal Jaffri John Tennent, Phill Wells and Peter Whatmore, who continue as Trustees of the Charity.

In making the appointments, Professor Bob Allison, Chair of the Board of Trustees said, ‘I am delighted that we have attracted a further group of outstanding individuals to become Trustees of such an important charity.

“The Trustees bring a wealth of knowledge and professional experience to The Air Ambulance Service and are essential to the good governance of TAAS.”

The Trustees join TAAS as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Children’s Air Ambulance, the 15th anniversary of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance, and the 20th anniversary of its very first lifesaving mission as the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
