GE Aerospace and Asia Pacific Aerospace (APA) signed an agreement for APA to provide GE-authorized T700 engine line maintenance training to operators in the region. This agreement expands an existing arrangement between the two companies that named APA as a GE-authorized Engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider for T700 engines.

“APA has developed a strong reputation as an engine MRO provider in the region,” says Amy Gowder, President and CEO, Military Systems Operation, Avionics and Electric Power at GE Aerospace. “With the Australian Defence Force’s recent order for additional T700-powered Boeing Apache, Sikorsky Black Hawk, and Seahawk helicopters, our customers will need localized training options that APA can now provide with this agreement along with T700 MRO services.”

“This line maintenance training agreement comes at a critical time as the Australian Defence Force increases its fleet of in-country T700 engines from 24 to 105 aircraft. APA can now provide sovereign training capability for T700 end users within region as well as we extend and strengthen our relationship with GE Aerospace,” says Tony Cotroneo, APA General Manager.

The T700 family of turboshaft and turboprop engine powers multiple helicopter and fixed aircraft applications. GE has delivered more than 25,000 engines, which have accumulated more than 100 million engine flight hours since entering service in 1978. The T700 engine has benefited from continued technical improvements that have increased its power and reliability for enhanced performance for military and commercial customers. The engines are the power of choice for more than 130 customers in 50 countries for transport, medical evacuation, air rescue, special operations, and marine patrol.
