Limosa, the Canadian eVTOL design and manufacturing company, has concluded a framework agreement on the supply of crash-safety seating systems with AUTOFLUG from Germany.

A significant reason for the decision is the low weight and slimline design of the FLYWEIGHT® seat family developed by AUTOFLUG that they will be using. In addition, Limosa has chosen a seat that has already finished qualification and is available on the market and will also serve the needs for its 1+7-seater air taxi, meaning it is saving time and money in the development phase as a result. The various options within the FLYWEIGHT® seat family enable optimal use of the cabin for a wide range of applications. As a result, the cabin layout can be adjusted to suit the various missions of the customer’s flight operations in a matter of minutes thanks to the quick and easy installation and removal of individual seats as well as the foldable the FLYWEIGHT® UP seat.

The first delivery for the Limosa LimoConnect is scheduled for 2028 with a design which includes vertical takeoff and landing, as well as conventional flying. In addition, the Limosa LimoConnect concept, that initially envisage flight operations taking place with a pilot, are banking on autonomous flight as soon as this becomes possible. “In AUTOFLUG, we are delighted to have found a partner who, in addition to having an innovative range of seats, also meets all the relevant criteria for us,” explains Dr. Hamid Hamidi, CEO at Limosa, referring to the certification already available for the individual seat variants. In addition, the low weight and modern design are important points for promoting the program. “In Limosa, we have been able to get another big player in the field of eVTOL technology for our FLYWEIGHT® seats. We are looking forward to this exciting project and cooperation in the coming years,” says Martin Kroell, CEO of AUTOFLUG, when signing the contract. The initial plan for the start of serial production is an annual capacity of 2,000 seats in the various designs; this will thereafter increase significantly.
