China and Russia have concluded discussions on a joint venture creating a heavy-lift helicopter and are ready to sign a general contract. China’s Avicopter will oversee most of the development and designs and Russia’s Russian Helicopters will be developing certain angles and components, reports TASS.

The new AC311A light utility helicopter from Avicopter has completed its plateau flight tests. The tests were carried out at three separate plateau airports, Gonghe, Yushu and Yuzhong Airport. The aircraft completed 41 test hours in 91 flights, reports Xinhau Net.

Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian Prime Minister has approved the Russo-Chinese agreement for the partnership in creating an Advanced Heavy Lifter (AHL) helicopter. China’s Avicopter and France’s Airbus has come together and created a new generation medium sized helicopter, the AC-352. The helicopter made its debut this past Tuesday in Harbin. China and France have both signed a joint agreement for the production of 1000 units of the helicopter, reports CCTV.
