All six occupants died when the helicopter crashed en route to a Chevron oil platform off the Angolan coast. The helicopter left Malongo port in Angola’s Cabinda province on Monday at 1523 local time to make the short journey to the Tombua-Landana offshore oil platform but never arrived.

The University of Michigan has signed a multi-year agreement with Pentastar Aviation to provide management and support for all emergency medical operations for the Survival Flight program. The Survival Flight fleet includes a Citation Encore jet airplane and three Bell 430 helicopters.
Kaman Aerospace has been awarded a five-year contract with a potential value of $53 million to build composite helicopter blade skins and skin core assemblies for Bell Helicopters. Under the terms of the contract, Kaman will provide 18 different assemblies for H1, 406, 407, 412, 427, 429, 430 and BA609 aircraft.
The Helicopter Service of Iceland regularly checks what is available in the marketplace but has so far seen no reason to switch from Bell. “So far we are happy with our 230 and 430,” says Sindri Steingrimsson, director flight operations.
