Grants came from three trusts, General Charities of the City of Coventry, Stratford Town Trust and the Soroptimist International of Rugby Charitable Trust, to improve working areas at the operational base.

Dr John Trenfield, a consultant in emergency medicine at NGH, and Richard Craske, the chief pilot at Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, said land they had identified near the entrance to the A&E department, would be ideal for a landng site and would be a major boost to the hospital.

The air ambulance service which covers Northamptonshire unveiled its brand new helicopter on Friday at Althorp House. As well as the latest medical and radio equipment, the AgustaWestland 109 is also the fastest civilian helicopter in the UK.

THE COUNTY air ambulance completed its 8,000th life-saving mission earlier this week.  Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was called to a crash on the B4102 near Astley, Nuneaton, on Wednesday.

Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to upgrade from Power to Grand

Sloane Helicopters, based at Sywell, will equip the new aircraft when it arrives in the UK and said patients will benefit enormously from the upgrade.
