Night Flight Concepts (NFC) completed NVG Maintenance Training to California Shock Trauma Air Rescue “CALSTAR”. Night Flight Concepts is the industry’s premier provider of night vision goggle equipment, training, and maintenance solutions.

CALSTAR is a non-profit Air Ambulance organization headquartered in Sacramento California. The company became the first non-hospital-based Air Ambulance Program in the nation, and operates under its own Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate. CALSTAR has multiple locations throughout California, utilizing a diverse fleet of aircraft including BO, Bell, Augusta and MD helicopters. In addition to their rotorcraft fleet, CALSTAR also has a fixed-wing component.

The Maintenance Training Course was conducted at NFCs headquarter location in Port St. Lucie, Florida. As part of the training agreement, NFC provided CALSTAR with all the testing equipment and tools required to begin conducting their own in-house NVG inspections and maintenance. “With the fast growing implementation of night vision goggles in the civil industry over the past few years, it is great to see a company such as CALSTAR seek and acquire proper training and equipment to assure they operate and maintain their night vision goggles at peak performance.” David Luke, Vice President, Night Flight Concepts.

In operation since 1983, CALSTAR’s mission is “To save lives, reduce disability, and speed recovery for victims of trauma and illness”. With over 40,000 missions flown, countless lives saved, a true commitment to safety and their communities, CALSTAR is clearly a leader in the Air Ambulance segment of the industry.
