Med-Trans Corporation has reached a mutual commitment with Mercy Medical Center North Iowa to become their new aviation partner for their helicopter ems program located in Mason City. Both parties recently completed the terms of a formal contract after nearly a 12-month process of selection during which the hospital focused on safety, experience and quality as the guiding principles in choosing a new air-medical transport service partner.

Med-Trans will replace the current aviation partner for Mercy Medical Center and the current Mercy Air Life air medical program will become Mercy Air Med.  Not only will the MERCY AIR MED name be new, but the program will also feature the latest in helicopter ems technology including a brand new aircraft providing increased speed, Night Vision Goggles (NVG) for the entire crew and satellite communication technology.

Mercy Medical Center and Med-Trans are currently underway with a transition plan, which will allow for an uninterrupted switch from the previous aviation partner, to Med-Trans. This change will go into effect on

February 1st of 2011.
