Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has renewed their contract to use Night Flight Concepts NVIO™ NVG Computer-based Training (CBT) program. The NVIO CBT is used within the Bachelor of Aeronautical Science Helicopter Speciality degree program at their Prescott, Arizona Campus where it is enhancing the classroom learning experience.

“Embry-Riddle is an institution dedicated to instructional excellence and leadership to prepare our students for market realities. We promote safety first.” explains Assistant Professor Bryan Cox. “NVGs are playing an ever increasing role in night helicopter operations. We are pleased to be using the NVIO NVG CBT in our technology to help transform teaching and learning in the classroom.”

The implementation of the CBT at Embry-Riddle is unique. The content, including 3D graphics, is integrated real-time into a classroom environment. Instructors have the ability to take advantage of the FAA vetted courseware and state of the art graphics while at the same time maintaining the integrity of the traditional classroom. The 3D interactive e-learning content helps accelerate learning comprehension, enhances learning effectiveness and automatically maintains a standardized approach to training.

“Night Flight Concepts is very pleased to have Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University recognize and select NVIO NVG CBT to augment their existing training curriculum.” stated Adam Aldous, President and CEO of Night Flight Concepts.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has integrated the NVIO NVG Computer-based Training (CBT) program into their Advanced Helicopter Speciality Course: “Environmental Helicopter Operations”. In this, course students obtain the foundation for helicopter operations in varying environmental conditions. The students are introduced to aspects particular to helicopter flight as it pertains to adverse weather including day, night, and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations. The ground instruction on NVG operations using NVIO is in accordance with the ground training requirements outlined in FAR Part 61.31(k).
