Businessman steps in to save RACQ NQ rescue helicopter

Pickering’s Mount Isa came to the rescue of the RACQ NQ Rescue Helicopter by pledging $60,000 over the next three years. Dealer Principal Chad Brazaitis said ‘After attending the helicopters Sportsman’s Dinner last year and seeing all the great work they preform I was extremely interested in getting on board. Then I heard them on the radio 2 weeks ago discussing how they had lost funding and the Government didn’t want to help. I decided that we needed to step in and support this service’

Pickering’s have signed up to a three year deal worth $60,000, Alex Dorr the CEO of the RACQ NQ Rescue Helicopter said ‘This money comes at a crucial time for the rescue helicopter service as we battle to fill the funding gap. It’s this type of local community and business support that keeps the rescue helicopter flying’

The RACQ NQ Rescue Helicopter Service raises over 1.4 million dollars per year to keep their life saving service flying. All the funds raised are from the local community and corporate support with no funding received from state government.

The RACQ NQ Rescue Helicopter is always looking for more local business to come on-board as sponsors.
