AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s. took the second place in Exportér roku 2014 (Exporter of the year 2014) list in the category of export growth in 2012 and 2013. Aero thus benefits from the long-term growing trend within the entire industry. Aero was at the excellent 9th position in the growth of revenues among aircraft manufacturers around the world already in 2014. The importance and position of Aero are also confirmed by the results on the domestic market. The positive development of exports in 2012 and 2013 was due to two programs: S-76 where Aero manufactures almost the entire helicopter, and UH-60M Black Hawk where Aero manufactures the cockpit for this legendary military helicopter. The increase in exports was almost unbelievable 50% – from CZK 2.2 bn to CZK 3.3 bn.

The success of Aero is not rare in the aviation industry as documented by the first place in exports growth taken by another Czech manufacturer – company Aircraft Industries which manufactures proven transport aircrafts L-410. Both awards indicate that the Czech aviation industry is the perspective and growing segment.

Years 2015 and 2016 will bring important milestones for Aero, which will ensure further increase of revenues. L-39 aircraft with new Williams engine will take off for the fist time this year. This will complete the first phase of development of the new generation of this legendary trainer aircraft named L-39NG. Aero is also successfully continuing with its programme of overhauls and support for L-39, L-59, and L-159 aircrafts that serve in the Czech Air Force and at many foreign customers. Serial production will start for Bombardier CSeries program, for which Aero manufactures the fixed part of wing leading edge, as well as production of fuselage section 14A for Airbus A321 aircrafts. Aero is going to maintain the positive growth for the future thanks to its abilities, respected position on the worldwide civil and military aviation markets, and inventions in its sector.
