H+S Aviation, a BBA Aviation company, announced today that its Abu Dhabi maintenance, repair and overhaul facility has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 145 approval for PW206/PW207 and PT6C-67C turboshaft engines. The EASA authorisation follows the facility’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) CAR 145 approval earlier this year.

“Our Abu Dhabi facility is a world-class operation and each additional authorization allows us to expand our capabilities as part of BBA Aviation’s global service and support network,” stated Mark Taylor, Managing Director H+S Aviation. “Our local focus is the expanding customer base right here in region, but we need to be ready to support the global growth of BBA Aviation’s rotorcraft program.”

Taylor went on to say that while the goal of the Abu Dhabi facility is to be the provider of choice for Pratt & Whitney Canada engines in the Middle East, H+S Aviation is pursuing additional approvals to extend their rotorcraft capabilities and provide service and support for customers in the larger Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. In addition to GCAA and EASA approvals, he said the team in Abu Dhabi will continue to expand and develop their capabilities, and they will pursue the necessary country authorisations to meet the needs of the rotorcraft customers throughout the total EMEA region.

One of those expanded capabilities at the facility is the certification of the test cell. Taylor said that he expects to have it certified, subject to local planning approvals, by the first part of the year. “Once our test cell is certified, we will have complete test capacity for PT6C-67C, PW200 and PW210 series engines, which allows us to deliver full R+O capabilities in region for these engine models,” he explained.

H+S Aviation Middle East is located in the Free Trade Zone of the Abu Dhabi International Airport, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). With its GCAA and EASA approvals, the facility and team are authorized to provide service and support to all PW206/PW207 and PT6C-67C customers in the UAE and EU.
