United Rotorcraft today announced that the Bell 505 HEMS kit is on display in at FIDAE in Santiago, Chile until April 3, 2016.

The HEMS kit, which can be found inside the Bell 505 mock-up at the Bell Chalet, includes a standard size litter with adjustable headrest that will be approved for taxi, take-off, and landing, a floor pan with integrated locking brackets to secure the litter for flight, pilot/patient isolation barrier, and a modular equipment rack that replaces one of the aft seats. The equipment rack includes machined tracks to allow the operator to attach a wide range of medical mounts, oxygen cylinders, and storage pouches as the operator requires.

“We are excited about the new Bell 505 Jet Ranger X’s potential,” stated Frank Graham, director of global sales and marketing. “By leveraging this aircraft’s unique design and price point with our 35-plus years of experience, we developed an EMS kit that will enable the Bell 505 to convert into an EMS transport vehicle with little or no permanent modifications to the airframe. The aircraft and this particular mission configuration was such a success at Heli-Expo in Louisville, KY at the beginning of March, we were eager to introduced it to the South American market.”

The new Bell 505 HEMS kit benefit will allow the aircraft to serve multiple missions with a quick configuration change at the base or in the field.
