Montana’s Senate has sanctioned a bill, the Senate Bill 44, which allows patients to only pay co-payments and insurance deductibles after the use of an air ambulance. The remaining cost will be split between insurance companies and air ambulance providers.
The bill was created when it was brought to light how exorbitant the costs of an air ambulance were to the public. It was a 48-0 vote. Before it can have a final vote, the bill has to be reviewed by the Senate Finance and Claims committee, reports Billings Gazette.
