STAR Flight has increased their fees in an effort to put the payment on users of the helicopter service, rather than taxpayers. The previous costs were $4,500 for country residents and $9,500 for non-residents, with an additional cost of $165 per mile. Now, the prices have risen to $15,500 for both residents and non-residents, with a per mile rate of $200. Many people are struggling with this new increase, as not all insurances will pay out in full, and in an emergency where the flight cannot be avoided, such as a heart attack, one must think of the adjoining medical bills on top of the flight costs. STAR Flight is looking to increase their fees once more by 1,1%, reports My States Man, to keep up with inflation.
